Fort Collins has a local listener-supported radio station called KFRC. Typical of liberal-oriented radio it isn’t commercially viable, so most of its support comes from the left-leaning listeners that want it to stay on the air. But I digress.
Eric Fried reports at Fort Collins:Now that KFRC has turned away from its initial democratic leadership mission. Instead of making important decisions such as program content and changing the station’s mission statement by majority vote of its members, station managenent has taken it upon themselves to determine these things on their own. Board members that disagreed with these policies were simply kicked to the curb.
Now I have to wonder where Mr. Fried has been for the past 100 or so years that these communist socialist ideaologies have been tried. Has he not heard about such things as the fall of the Berlin Wall; the precursor to the fall of the great Soviet Union? Has he not seen the atrocities perpetrated by the leaders of the nations that have followed this ideology that has led to the deaths of more people than at anytime throughout history?
Maybe where Mr. Fried went to school, he didn’t have a chance to read Animal Farm. You know, the book where the author explains how leadership works under these policies.
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
I have to wonder if Mr. Fried actually thought this ideology would work in a practical application. Perhaps all he needs is for someone to slowly and carefully explain to him the following axiom:
Socialism fails every time it’s tried.
